          Trees are creatures full of energy that nourish the works of Philippa Lawrence. Along with textile, they constitute her only material, the first, of human origin, closely associated with the second, of natural origin.

           By wrapping the trunk and/or branches of trees without foliage by means of different textiles, she highlights their architecture. Her work uses sometimes craft techniques as when she uses knitted wraps.
