Kongjian YU

Japanese Landscape and architect.

Born in 1963

This  world-renowned  architect and planner is very involved in the ecological movement..

Regardless of the scale of the project brought to him - infrastructure work or simple landscaping -, he strives to integrate his creations harmoniously into their environment, taking into account not only its aesthetic dimension, but also and above all its geographical, ecological and societal identity.

Sometimes rectilinear in shape, sometimes sinuous, whether architectural or landscape, his works obey the topographical configurations of the sites in which they are inserted.

For the Chinese, a symbol of happiness and luck, the color red is omnipresent in his works. It affirms their status as "object work" contrasting strongly with the green – complementary to the red – of the surrounding nature..
